NTSI 2020 HAS CONCLUDED.
Thank you for your participation!

Welcome to City Schools!

The New Teacher Summer Institute will be held virtually from August 10-13. Over the course of these four days, you’ll be given lots of information about the upcoming school year, City Schools, and more. Plus, you’ll get the chance to hear from district leadership and talk with your colleagues.

The theme this year is “We are Baltimore! We are City Schools! We are Educators!”

NTSI will feature engaging learning sessions, choice seminars, dynamic presenters and speakers, giveaways, opportunities to connect with fellow new teachers, break-out groups by grade and content and so much more.
Each day (from August 10-13) will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with plenty of time for breaks, optional dance blocks and a one hour lunch time. You will be paid a stipend of $125 for each full day of participation. If you have any questions about this process or your pre-employment status, please email Human Capital.

NOTE: If you will be serving at a charter or contract school, please contact your principal regarding plans for new teacher induction, as many charter and contract schools provide their own distinct NTSI programming.

Choice Sessions: Exploring Coherence in the MCCRS - Math

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
During this session teacher will engage in a study of standards across grades K–5 related to representing and solving problems involving addition and subtraction to see how this idea develops across the grades.  We will revise and refine our thinking on what this big idea means.  Finally, we will reflect on our study of the standards and how our instruction may be affected by any new knowledge we acquire during the session.
